Winter Clothes

Dressed for Winter

Here I am all dressed for winter,
As warm as warm can be.
Sweater, hat, scarf, mittens,
Coat, ski pants, boots,
An extra pair of socks,
Wow, I look so fat and chubby,
But underneath it's only ME!

Hibernation

The fat and sleepy woodchuck
And the brown and woolly bears
Have the nicest furry snow suits
That anyone could wear.

The very thing for sliding
Down a bank of frosty snow,
Or for wearing on the skating rink
When the winds of winter blow.

But those fat and lazy creatures
Wear their furry suits in bed.
No winter sports for them
They hibernate instead.

Imagine fur pajamas!
What a funny thing to wear.
I'm glad I'm not a woodchuck
Or a big brown woolly bear.

In Winter

When I have drunk  my orange juice
And cocoa in a cup,
I put my woolly snowsuit on
And get it fastened up.
I go to school and take it off
And hang it on a rack.
And then when recess comes around
I have to hurry back.
I put it on to go and play,
And then when play is through
I take my snowsuit off again -
No easy thing to do.
And when it's time to leave for home
I heave a sigh, and then,
I take that woolly suit of mine
And put it on again.

Losing Things

I'm very good at losing things,
Especially things in twos.
Like socks and gloves and mittens,
And even boots and shoes.
There's always one - that seems to stay.
And always one - that hides away!

Mitten Match

Find your mittens, new or old.
Help your fingers fight the cold.
Red or yellow, green or blue,
Put you thumb and fingers through.

Mittens

Mittens for the snow time
When the world is white.
Mittens for my two hands.
Mittens left and right.
Mittens with a thumb place.
Mittens warm and snug.
Mittens make me feel like
A bug inside a rug!

Mittens

I have three pairs of mittens, yellow, red and blue
If I ever lose a pair, I will still have two
But it never works that way; that's not the way it's done
I never seem to lose the pair, all I lose is one
And at the end of winter, I have three mittens there
One blue, one red, one yellow
But not a single pair.

Mother

The north wind doth blow
And we shall have snow.
And what will poor mother
Do then? Poor thing!
She'll put on snowsuits,
And mittens and boots,
Again, and again, and again!
Poor thing!

My Zipper Suit

My zipper suit is bunny brown-
The top zips up, the legs zip down.
I wear it every day.
My daddy brought it out from town.
Zip it up, and zip it down,
And hurry out to play!

Sing a Song of Winter

Sing a song of winter,
A snowstorm in the sky,
Four and twenty snowflakes,
Swirl so quickly by.
I am so warm and cozy,
I skip along and sing.
Mittens on and warm scarf on,
And boots and everything!

The Mitten Song

"Thumbs in the thumb-place,
Fingers all together!"
This is the song
We sing in mitten-weather.
When it is cold,
It doesn’t matter whether
Mittens are wool,
Or made of finest leather-
This is the song
We sing in mitten-weather:
"Thumbs in the thumb-place,
Fingers all together!"

Warm Clothes

I have two mittens.
My snow suit is white.
They keep me snug and warm.

I have a brown jacket
That zips me up tight!
It keeps me snug and warm.

I have a green scarf
That comes up to my nose.
It keeps me snug and warm.

I have two boots
That cover my toes.
They keep me snug and warm.

Winter Weather

Let's put on our mittens
And button our coats;
Wrap a scarf snuggly
Around our throats.
Pull on our boots,
Fasten the straps.
And tie on tightly,
Our warm winter caps.
Then open the door
And out we go
Into the soft and feathery snow.

Zippers

Three little zippers on my snowsuit,
Fasten up as snug as snug can be
It's a very easy as you can see,
Just zip, zip, zip!
I work the zippers on my snowsuit.
Zippers really do save time for me
I can fasten them myself with one, two, three.
Just zip, zip, zip!
