Sea Life

A Fishing We Will Go (tune of A Hunting We Will Go)

A fishing we will go, a fishing we will go,
We'll have some fun, playing in the sun
A fishing we will go.
A fishing we will go, a fishing we will go,
Oh, how I wish, to catch a fish
A fishing we will go.

A Seashell

One day, a little shell washed up
Out of the waves at sea.
I held the shell up to my ear,
And I heard it sing to me.
Sh -- sh -- sh -- sh!
A little shell washed up one day,
And lay upon the sand.
It sang a song about the sea,
As I held it in my hand.
Sh -- sh -- sh -- sh!

Big and Little Whale

Little whale rocking so gently
Little whale out in the sea.
Whale and I are rocking together.
Whale and I alone in the sea.
Great big whale swimming so strongly.
Great big whale out in the sea.
Whale and I swimming together.
Whale and I alone in the sea.

Catching a Fish

One, two, three, four, five
I caught a fish alive.
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
I let it go again.
Why did you let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
The little finger on the right.

Eight Little Tentacles (tune of 1 Little, 2 Little)

One little, two little, three little tentacles
Four little, five little, six little tentacles
Seven little, eight little, yes, eight little tentacles
On an octopus.

Five Little Fishes

Five little fishes swimming in a pond.
The first one said, "I'm tired," as he yawned.
The second one said, "Well, let's take a nap."
The third one said, "Put on your sleeping cap."
The fourth one said, "Wake up! Don't sleep!"
The fifth one said, "Let's swim where it's deep."
So the five little fishes swam away.
But they came back the very next day.

Five Little Sea Creatures

Five little sea creatures on the ocean floor;
The lobster walked away and now there are four.
Four little sea creatures living in the sea;
The octopus crept away and now there are three.
Three little sea creatures wondering what to do;
"Good-by," said the starfish and now there are two.
Two little sea creatures not having much fun;
Off swam the sea horse and now there is one.
One little hermit crab, sad and all alone,
Back came the starfish,
Back came the sea horse,
Back came the octopus,
Back came the lobster,
Then all five went home.

Five Little Seashells

Five little seashells lying on the shore
Swish! Went the waves and then there were four.
Four little seashells cozy as could be
Swish! Went the waves and then there were three.
Three little seashells all pearly and new
Swish! Went the waves and then there were two.
Two little seashells sitting in the sun
Swish! Went the waves and then there was one.
One little seashell sad and all alone
I picked it up and we both went home.

Fred and His Fishes

Fred had a fishbowl, in it was a fish
Fred said I know what I'll do
I'll buy another and that will make two
Fred said, I am sure it would be
Just as nice if I had three
Fred said, if I just had one more
That would make one, two, three, four
Fred said, what fun to see them dive
One, two, three, four, five.
How many fishes do you see?
How many fishes? Count them with me.

Going Fishing

When I go fishing down at the brook
I put a wiggly worm on my hook
I toss it in the water
And hope with all my might
A little fish will swim by
And take a great big bite.

Here is the Sea

Here is the sea, the wavy sea.
Here is my boat and here is me.
All of the fishes down below.
Wiggle their tails and away they go.

Holidays

Driving to the cottage
You can come too
Going to stay a week
For a Bar-B-Q
Fishing and
Swimming and
Surfing too
Looking for bears
                and
A heron blue.

I'm a Little Fishy

I'm a little fishy, I can swim
Here is my tail, here is my fin
When I want to have fun with my friends
I wiggle my tail and I dive right in.

Ocean

Ocean, ocean, calm and cool.
Ocean, ocean, better than a pool.
Ocean, ocean, I'm seasick.
Ocean, ocean, rescue boat come quick.
Ocean, ocean, I'm going home.
Ocean, ocean, no more foam!

Oceans

Swimming
Darting
Turning
Flipping
Diving
Leaping
Wiggling
Floating
Fish, fish, fish.
Growing,
Waving
Winding
Tangling
Tearing
Spreading
Floating
Bobbing
Seaweed, seaweed, seaweed.

Octopus

An octopus has 8 long arms
It lives in the sea but do not be alarmed
He squirts out ink, when he is the prey
And grows a new arm when it's torn away.

Octopus, Octopus

Octopus, octopus down in the sea,
How many arms can you show to me?
Only one, or will it be two?
Why are all of these arms on you?
Will it be three or will it be four?
Oh, dear me! Are there really more?
Will it be five or will it be six?
I think that my eyes are playing tricks.
Will it be seven or will it be eight?
Tell me, octopus, I cannot wait.
Octopus, octopus, down in the sea,
How many arms can you show me?

Seals

The seals all slap their shining flips.
And bounce a ball on their nosey tips.
And beat a drum and catch a bar.
And wriggle how pleased they are.

Sea-Serpent Saw a Big Tanker

A sea-serpent saw a big tanker,
Bit a hole in her side and then sank her.
It swallowed the crew
In a minute or two,
And then picked its teeth with the anchor.

Seashell

One day, a little shell washed up
Out of the waves at sea
I held the shell up to my ear
And I heard it sing to me
Sh, sh, sh, sh
A little shell washed up one day
And lay upon the sand
It sang a song about the sea
As I held it in my hand.
Sh, sh, sh, sh

Seven Seals

In the sea are seven seals
Swimming and splashing are some of their skills
Soon the seals are surprised
By a fish that's twice their size
Swim little seals as swiftly as you can
Or they may be only six in your clan.

Swim Little Fishy

Swim little fishy, swim around the pool,
Swim little fishy, the water is cool.
Where's the little fishy? Where did he go?
There he is! SPLASH!

Swimming

I can dive.
I can swim.
I can float.
I can fetch.
But dog paddle
Is the stroke I do best.

The Codfish

The codfish lays ten thousand eggs,
The homely hen lays one.
The codfish never cackles
To tell you what she's done.
And so we scorn the codfish,
While the humble hen we prize,
Which only goes to show you
That it pays to advertise.

The Fish Go Swimming (tune of The Ants Go Marching)

The fish go swimming one by one, hoorah, hoorah
The fish go swimming one by one, hoorah, hoorah
The fish go swimming one by one, the little one stopped to have some fun
And they all went swimming,
Deeper in the water, to escape from an otter
Swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim.

... two... said how are you
... three... sing with glee
... four... hide on the floor
... five... be glad you're alive
... six... do some tricks
... seven... look up to heaven
... eight... say swimming is great
... nine... straighten the line
... ten... say The End!

Way Down Deep

Underneath the water,
Way down deep,
In sand and stones and seaweed,
Starfish creep,
Snails inch slowly,
Oysters sleep,
Underneath the water,
Way down deep.

When the Fish Go Swimming By (tune of When the Saints)

Oh, when the fish, go swimming by
Oh, when the fish go swimming by
I'll be on the shore watching closely
When the fish go swimming by.
