Plants
A Daffodil
A little yellow cup
A little yellow frill
A little yellow star
That's called a daffodil.
Apple Tree
This is the tree with leaves so green.
Here are the apples that hang in between
When the wind blows
The apples will fall.
Here is the basket to gather them all.
Apple Tree
Way up high in the apple tree
Two little apples smiled at me.
I shook that tree as hard as I could
Down came the apples
Mmmmm - they were good.
A Song of Flowers (tune of Sing a Song of Sixpence)
Sing a song of flowers, flowers all around
Flowers that are growing, growing in the ground
Flowers of each color make a pretty view
Red and orange and yellow ones
Blue and purple too.
Bluebells
Bluebells, cockle shells, eevy ivy over!
Bluebells, cockle shells, eevy ivy over!
Coconut Warning
Now, here's a little warning
So listen to me
Never ever sit beneath
A coconut tree
They're great for drinking
They're fine for percussion
But if one hits your head
You'll get a concussion.
Crocus
Hello tiny crocus
Your arrival makes me sing
I know you're pushing winter out
And making room for spring.
Daffadowndilly
Daffadowndilly
Has come to town
In a yellow petticoat
And a green gown.
Daffodils
In spite of cold and chills
That usher in the early spring
We have the daffodils.
Daffodils
Yellow, yellow daffodils
You're dancing in the sun
Yellow, yellow daffodils
You tell me spring has come.
Daisies
One, two, three, four, five
Yellow daisies all alive.
Here they are all in a row.
The sun and the rain will help them grow.
Dandelions (tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb)
Once there was a dandy lady, dandy lady, dandy lady
Once there was a dandy lady, who loved to dance all day
She had beautiful hair of gold, hair of gold, hair of gold,
She had beautiful hair of gold, and loved to dance all day
As time passed and she grew old, she grew old, she grew old,
As time passed and she grew old, her hair all turned to grey
Now when the dandy lady dances, lady dances, lady dances,
Now when the dandy lady dances, her hair blows all away.
Five Little Flowers
Five pretty sunflowers are standing in the sun;
Now their heads are nodding, and bowing one by one.
Down, down, down, down comes the gentle rain
And the five pretty sunflowers lift up their heads again.
Five Pretty Flowers
See the five pretty flowers we planted by the door
A little boy picked one and now there are four
Four pretty flowers for everyone to see
The dog stepped on one of them and now there are three
Three pretty flowers, yellow, pink and blue
The newsboy threw the paper and now there are two
Two pretty flowers growing in the sun
A caterpillar chewed the stem and now there is one
One pretty flower with a smiling face
I picked the pretty flower and put it in a vase.
Flower
Here's a green leaf
That you see makes two
Here is a bud
That makes a flower
Watch it bloom, for you.
Flower Garden (tune of Farmer in the Dell)
The farmer plants the seeds, the farmer plants the seeds
Hi, ho, and cherry-o, the farmer plants the seeds.
The rain begins to fall...
The sun begins to shine...
The plants begin to grow...
The buds all open up...
The flowers smile at me...
Flower Play
If I were a little flower
Sleeping underneath the ground,
I'd raise my head and grow and grow
And stretch my arms and grow and grow.
And nod my head and say,
"I'm glad to see you all today."
Flowers
Flowers tall, flowers small
Count them one by one
Blowing with the breezes
In the springtime sun
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Green Leaf
Here's a green leaf
And here's a green leaf.
That you see, makes two.
Here's a bud.
That makes a flower;
Watch it bloom for you!
I Love the Flowers
I love the flowers.
I love the budding trees.
I love the chirping birds.
I love the buzzing bees.
I love the Springtime,
When the sun is warm and bright,
Boom de-a-da, boom de-a-da,
Boom de-a-da, boom, boom.
Mary, Mary
Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row.
Not All Trees
Not all trees wear autumn colors
Some stay green all year
Their leaves are long and thin and sharp
And at Christmas they bring good cheer.
Oak Tree
Here is an oak tree, straight and tall
And here are its branches wide
Here is a nest of twigs and moss
With three little birds inside
The breezes blow, and the little leaves play
But the branches keep the little nest safe as they sway and
sway
And rock the little birds to sleep
Picking Apples
Here's a little apple tree, I look up and I can see
Big red apples, ripe and sweet,
Big red apples, good to eat!
Shake the little apple tree.
See all the apples fall on me.
Here's a basket, big and round.
Pick the apples from the ground.
Here's an apple I can see.
I'll reach up. It's ripe and sweet.
That's the apple I will eat!
Plants
Plants need care to help them grow
Just like boys and girls, you know.
Good soil, water, sunshine bright.
Then watch them pop overnight.
Purple Violets
One purple violet in our garden grew.
Up popped another, and that made two.
Two purple violets were all that I could see.
My brother found another one and that made three.
Three purple violets - if I could find one more,
I'd make a wreath for Mother and that would make four.
Four purple violets, sure as you're alive!
Why, here is another! And now there are five!
Pussy Willow
I have a little pussy, her fur is silver grey
She lives down in the meadow, not very far away
She'll always be a pussy, she'll never be a cat
For she's a pussy willow, now what do you think of that?
Relaxing Flowers
Five little flowers standing in the sun
See their heads nodding, bowing one by one?
Down, down, down comes the gentle rain
And the five little flowers lift their heads up again!
Rose
I like to pretend that I am a rose.
That grows and grows and grows and grows.
My hands are a rosebud closed up tight.
With not a tiny speck of light.
Then slowly the petals open for me.
And here is a full-grown rose, you see!
Ten Little Leaf Buds
Ten little leaf buds growing on a tree
Curled up as tightly as can be
See them keeping snug and warm
During the winters cold and storm
Now along comes windy March
With his breath so soft, now harsh
First he swings them roughly so
Then more gently to and fro
'Til the raindrops from the skies
Falling pitter, patter-wise
Open wide the leaf bud's eyes
The Cherry Tree
Once I found a cherry stone,
I put it in the ground,
And when I came to look at it,
A tiny shoot I found.
The shoot grew up and up each day,
And soon became a tree.
I picked the rosy cherries then,
And ate them for my tea.
The Flower
Here's a green leaf and here's a green leaf
That you see makes two
Here is a bud that makes a flower
Watch it bloom for you.
The Tree
I am a tall tree. I reach toward the sky
Where bright stars twinkle and clouds float by
My branches toss high as the wild winds blow
And they bend forward, laden with snow
When they sway gently, I like it best
Then I rock birds to sleep in their nest.
Trees
Big trees,
Tall trees,
Reaching for the sky.
Little trees,
Small trees,
Not as big as I.
Tulips
Five little tulips - red and gay
Let us water them every day.
Watch them open in the bright sunlight.
Watch them close when it is night.
Tulips
Red tulips, yellow tulips, rainbow colors too
You left your heads in my flowers beds
And say how do you do.
Tulips
Tulips yellow, tulips red
Standing tall in their garden bed.
Way Up High in the Apple Tree
Way up high in the apple tree
Two big apples smiled at me
I shook the tree as hard as I could
And down came the apples, mmm they were good.
When Springtime is Here (tune
of Mulberry Bush)
This is the way we wake up and yawn
Wake up and yawn, wake up and yawn
This is the way we wake up and yawn
When springtime is here.
This is the way we sprout our roots...
This the way we pop through the
dirt...
This is the way we stretch and grow...
This is the way we shoot up so tall...
This is the way we open our buds...
This is the way we bend in the
breeze...
This is the way we smile at the sun...
Yellow Daffodil
Here is a yellow daffodil that nods from left to right
Here are the leaves so soft and green that guard it through
the night
