Occupations

Carpenter

The carpenter's hammer goes tap, tap, tap
And his saw goes saw, saw, see
And he planes and he measures
And he hammers and he saws
While he builds a big house for me

Crossing Guard

The crossing guard keeps us safe
As he works from day to day
He holds the stop sign high in the air
For the traffic to obey
And when the cars have completely stopped
And it's as safe as can be
He signals us to walk across
The street very carefully.

Down at the Firehouse (tune of Down by the Station)

Down at the firehouse, early in the morning
You can see our clothes hanging in a row
When there is a fire, we can dress really fast
Boots, jackets, hats, gloves, off we go!

Do You Know the Police Officer? (tune of Muffin Man)

Oh, do you know the police officer,
The police officer, the police officer
Do you know the police officer,
Who helps me when I'm lost.
...Who helps me cross the street.
...Who keeps me safe from harm.

Fire

This is the fire engine
This is the hose
The firemen work fast
When the siren blows
Up goes the ladder
Up goes the hose
The fire is out
When the siren blows

Fire

Fire, fire, fire, fire
Hear the sirens blowing
Fire, fire, fire, fire
Everybody going
Climb the ladder, squirt the hose
With a sh, sh, sh, sh
Out the fire goes.

Firefighter (tune of I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a little firefighter on the go
Here is my helmet, here is the hose
When I see a fire, hear me shout
I turn on the water and put the fire out
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Five Little Firemen

Five little firemen sit very still
Until they see a fire on top of a hill
Number one rings the bell, ding-dong
Number two pulls his big boot on
Number three jumps on the fire engine red
Number four puts a red fire hat on his head
Number five drives the red firetruck to the fire
As the big yellow flames go higher and higher
WHOOOOO. WHOOOOO. Hear the fire truck say
All of the cars get out of the way
SHHHH. Goes the water from the fire hose spout
And quicker than a wink, the fire is out.

Five Strong Policemen

Five strong policemen standing by a store
One became a traffic cop and then there were four
Four strong policemen watching over me
On took home a lost boy and then there were three
Three strong policemen dressed all in blue
One stopped a speeding car and then there were two
Two strong policemen how fast they can run
One caught a bad man and then there was one
One strong policeman saw some smoke one day
He called the firemen who put out the fire right away.

I'm a Firefighter (tune of I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a firefighter, dressed in red
With my fire hat on my head
I can drive the fire truck, fight fires too
And help to make things safe for you.

I'm a Little Cowboy (tune of I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a little cowboy, here's my hat
Here are my spurs, here are my chaps
As soon as I get up, I work all day
I get on my horse and ride away.

I'm a Police Officer (tune of I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a police officer with my star
I help people near and far
If you have a problem call on me
And I will be there - one, two, three

I'm Happy I Am a Doctor (tune of My Bonnie)

I'm happy I am a doctor
I don't like it when kids are sick
So if you are not feeling healthy
Come visit me really quick
Coughs, colds, fevers, flu,
I have some tricks up my sleeve for you
If you're feeling sick
Come visit your doctor for help.

Ten Little Firefighters

Ten little firefighters, sleeping in a row
Ding ding goes the bell and down the pole they go
Off on the engine, oh, oh, oh.
Using the big nose, so, so, so.
When all the fire's out, home so slow
Back into bed, all in a row.

The Firemen

Clang, clang goes the fire truck
When it is racing about
The firemen will work very hard
To put the fire out
With their hoses and their ladders
They answer the fire call
When firemen fight the fires
They really help us all.

Traffic Cop Song (tune of Do Your Ears Hang Low)

Do you drive a car with a flashing light on top
When you hold up your hand, does the traffic have to stop
Can you blow a whistle standing straight and tall and proud
You're our friend the traffic cop

Traffic Policemen

The traffic policeman holds up his hand
He blows the whistle, he gives the command
When the cars are stopped he waves at me
Then I may cross the street you see.
