Chickens
Chickens (tune of I'm a Little Teapot)
My mother is a big brown hen
She turns around and counts to ten
Ten little chicks all in a row
We'll be hens when we start to grow.
Chook, Chook
Chook, chook, chook, chook,
chook,
Good morning, Mrs. Hen.
How many chickens have you got?
Madam, I've got ten.
Four of them are yellow,
And four of them are brown,
And two of them are speckled
red,
The nicest in the town.
Ethel's Eggs
Ethel was a hen who laid ten
eggs
Each chick hatched and had two
legs
They would play and have their
fun
But when Ethel called, they
would come
Hatching Chicks
Five eggs and five eggs
Are underneath a hen.
Five eggs and five eggs,
And that makes ten.
The hen keeps the eggs warm for three long
weeks.
Snap go the shells with tiny little beaks.
Crack, crack the shells go.
The chickies everyone
Fluff out their feathers
In the warm spring sun.
Six Young Roosters
Six young roosters began to
play;
When all of a sudden, one ran
away.
Five young roosters began to
crow;
When all of a sudden, one hurt
his toe.
Four young roosters went to the
fair,
When all of a sudden, one
wasn't there.
Three young roosters, and just
as I feared,
All of a sudden, one
disappeared!
Two young roosters pecked on
the ground;
When all of a sudden, one
couldn't be found.
One young rooster went to his
nest;
When all of a sudden, he found
all the rest.
Ten Fluffy Chickens
Five eggs and five eggs
That makes ten.
Sitting on top is the mother hen.
Crackle, crackle, crackle;
What do I see?
Ten fluffy chickens
As yellow as can be.
This Little Chick
This little chick was the first
to hatch.
This little chick found a place
to scratch.
This little chick made her two
eyes blink.
This little chick took a long,
cool drink.
This little chick cried,
"Peep, peep!"
This little chick went fast to
sleep.
The mother called to the tiny
things,
And they all crept under her
warm, soft wings.
